TCS Parcel Not Received? What to Do Next by Status
Quick Answer
What to do about a TCS parcel that hasn’t arrived depends entirely on what your tracking status currently shows, not on how many days have passed. Check the status first, then follow the matching section below: the right next step for "Out for Delivery" is different from the right next step for a status that already says "Delivered."
Re-run your consignment number through the tracker on this site before reading further. A mistyped character produces the same blank or frozen result as a genuinely missing parcel, and it's the most common cause of a false alarm.
Match Your Status to What to Do
Status still says “In Transit” or “Arrived at Facility”
It hasn't reached your city's delivery run yet. There's nothing to act on here beyond checking again later; calling the helpline at this stage usually just gets you the same status you can already see online.
Status says “Out for Delivery” but nobody came
Check whether a missed-call or SMS attempt was logged. Riders cover a full route in a day and sometimes reach a doorstep before the recipient expects them, or find the address unclear on a first pass. Keep your phone reachable and check again the next working day before assuming anything went wrong. If the status changes to an exception or delivery-pending code instead of staying on “Out for Delivery,” see the status meanings guide for what that specific code means.
Status says “Delivered” but you never got it
This is the case that actually needs a phone call, not a wait. Call the TCS UAN at (021) 111-123-456 with your CN and ask specifically who signed for it and at what address. TCS records a proof-of-delivery confirmation at the time of handover, and asking for those details directly is more useful than asking generically “where is my parcel.” If you live in a shared building, check with a guard, reception desk, or neighbor before escalating further; a surprising number of “delivered but missing” cases turn out to be exactly this.
Status shows “Returned to Shipper”
The parcel is going back to the seller, for one of the reasons covered in the RTS guide. If it hasn't left the local station yet, that guide covers how to request a hold before it departs.
If You Ordered Online: Loop In the Seller Too
TCS carried the parcel, but the seller holds the commercial relationship, the order record, and the ability to issue a refund or replacement. If your status genuinely looks wrong, tell the seller in parallel with contacting TCS rather than waiting to hear back from one before contacting the other. This matters most for the “Delivered but not received” case above, since a seller-side investigation and a courier-side investigation can run at the same time.
If It Comes to a Formal Claim
A phone call resolves most cases in the sections above. If yours doesn't, and TCS confirms the shipment is genuinely lost or damaged, TCS requires a written claim submitted within 30 days of the shipment being accepted for carriage, not 30 days from when you noticed the problem. Missing that window is what TCS's own terms cite as grounds to decline the claim, so don't wait for repeated phone calls to resolve things before starting the written claim if the timeline is already close.
Before You Call: Have This Ready
- The consignment number, read directly off the receipt or SMS rather than from memory.
- The exact status text currently showing, not just “it's not here.”
- The delivery address, in case there's a mismatch between what you gave the seller and what TCS has on file.
This is an independent tracking reference, not TCS itself. We can help you read the status correctly and know who to call. We can't look inside TCS's internal systems, change a delivery address, or speed up a rider.
